Work will begin with improving the KRHJ-FM coverage around Lamar, Colorado. While the main transmitter tower site work is performed, our auxiliary transmitter is turned on to provide limited coverage. The auxiliary transmitter needs to be relocated first. The whole project duration is expected to take less than 6 months to complete. Special Temporary Authority was granted on December 21, 2023. The STA auxiliary will be turned on at the new location, while the main transmitter is turned off and the tower work is performed. Tower work includes replacing the main antenna currently in use with a multi-bay. The transmitter will also be upgraded for the higher power output required. Program delivery will change from the current private point to point microwave path with a licensed Studio Transmitter Link (STL). The STL will improve reliability, and reduce audio delay.
